Human’s love with a three letter word : War

When the internet was discovered, it was deemed to make the world a closer place. A place where people would interact and get to know other folks with their different opinions, view points. The technology made leaps and leaps in the 21st Century to make sure everything is at your fingertips.

When the pandemic struck, it was touted that since everyone is in it, everyone will come out of it together and it will make the world a connected, empathetic place.

But human’s love with war always triumphs. They need a regular dose of fighting soldiers, civilians killed, and economies in ruins. After all, what else would make one human superior than other? I feel like I understand humans and their survivorship bias, their instincts to protect themselves and their loved ones from a deadly situation. In history, though, I never found that humans coming to kill because they fear if they do not kill, they will simply be killed by someone else. It was always based on the ideologies, the religions, the inferiorities.

In 2022’s Russia-Ukraine war (yes! in 2022!), we found out that there are 2 superpowers. Russia and America. They want the dominance in the whole world. Don’t know why but they want to make their countries far more superior and want everything to be revolved around them. But they want it. And they want it at any cost.

Cost, is such a small word. And we use it so often in our day to day lives. But when it gets linked with one, not so big word, “war”, it means everything. It means babies who are learning their first words in the laps of their mothers, children who are questioning everything about life, students/teens who are trying to figure out how to make out of these lives, young people who are discovering love, adults who are rejoicing their children, and old folks who are reflecting back on lives.

I can never understand how a 6 year old girl who was killed in the shelling was of any threat to you. How making a country of 44 million live in bomb shelters without food, water and basic amenities can make you superior? How killing a teen boy who had just figured out what life is can make the whole world spin around you?

Human race is fucked up. I guess we never understand. This is a stupid world governed by stupid people who are willing to sacrifice everything to feel superior. Sigh!

Peace will never prevail on this planet just because of humans and their love with the three letter word.
